Santosh Shanbhag

Santosh Shanbhag joined ITM as Chief Business Officer (CBO) in 2026, bringing more than 25 years of financial leadership experience across U.S. and international life sciences companies. As of October 2026, he serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of ITM.

Prior to joining ITM, Santosh was CFO of Shield Therapeutics plc, supporting the U.S. infrastructure buildout and launch of ACCRUFeR®. From 2019 to 2024, he served as CFO of Akili Interactive, where he guided the company through its Nasdaq listing following FDA clearance of EndeavorRx®.

Earlier in his career, Santosh spent nearly a decade in senior finance roles at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, including as the Head of International Finance and Accounting in the UK, where he supported the international buildout of the company and reimbursement for its cystic fibrosis therapies.

Santosh holds an M.S. in Management & Engineering from MIT Sloan School of Management and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
