Marc Scharrer

General Counsel, Head of Legal

Marc Scharrer joined the company as Group General Counsel in 2019 and leads ITM’s legal department, overseeing corporate legal matters including compliance, intellectual property, and licensing. In 2021, he was granted Prokura (authorized officer) for all ITM entities.

Marc has deep expertise in international corporate and legal frameworks, particularly in highly regulated industries. He has advised ITM on its financing transactions and funding arrangements. Before joining ITM, he worked as an attorney advising companies on corporate and commercial law and had been advising ITM since 2016. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at the global engineering company Focke & Co., where he was responsible for the international commercialization of a business unit.

Marc is a fully qualified lawyer (Assessor Jur.) holding a law degree from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. He also studied at the Universities of Freiburg and Lausanne and completed his legal clerkship at the Berlin Court of Appeal.

Born in Newcastle, Australia, Marc lives in Munich with his family and enjoys sailing and windsurfing in his free time.
